LINCOLN (AP) — Nebraskans can get a glimpse of the future over the next two months through the drawings of the dreamers in our midst.
An architect, a marine biologist, a basketball player.
These are three of the careers students pictured themselves in when they entered the ‘Draw Your Dreams’ scholarship contest last year.
State Treasurer Don Stenberg will host an art exhibit in the Nebraska State Capitol from Feb. 27 to March 2. The display moves to the First National Bank of Omaha’s Tower Wintergarden from March 19-23.
The scholarship contest was open to children ages 7-13.
Twelve contest winners received a $3,500 scholarship and 12 runners-up each received a $750 scholarship, all of which were invested in the state’s Direct 529 College Savings Plan accounts.
