Culinary specialist Guy Klinzing

Taste of Home Cooking School soon in session

Get ready for this year's version of the Taste of Home Cooking School in a spacious new location.

The World-Herald is proud to sponsor this fun day of cooking demonstrations, food and wine tasting and other activities on March 29 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in La Vista. More than 2,200 people attended last year's event.

Culinary specialist Guy Klinzing will be on hand again to demonstrate 10 easy, tasty and sophisticated recipes from the Embassy Suites stage. In addition, you can visit booths with information and merchandise from area businesses and organizations.

Tickets go on sale Monday at area Hy-Vee stores and online at www.omaha.com/tasteofhome. They're $12 in advance and $15 at the door, if any tickets remain after advance sales. A limited number of VIP tickets will be available for $35.

We also need six people to be part of the Cooking School prep team. Helpers must be available from 8 a.m. until noon and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the day of the show to chop, cook, wash dishes and otherwise assist Klinzing. Go to www.omaha.com/tasteofhome to register for this contest.

Everyone who attends the show will get a free subscription to Taste of Home or Healthy Cooking magazine, along with a goody bag filled with coupons and items from sponsors and exhibitors.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. this year, and you'll want to come early to save a seat, visit the exhibits, grab a bit to eat and relax with your friends.
